Sunny Weymouth

Our adventures took us to Weymouth this weekend to visit friends, with the added Olympic bonus. There was a fantastic atmosphere and plenty of photo opportunities. We escaped the crowds for a day and enjoyed a windy pub lunch and a walk on the coast. Whilst my husband had a snooze, I did this little painting with my pochade. I'm not very quick with my oils "plein air" as yet, so within the space of an hour's painting the scene changed from foreboding clouds and darkened seas to glorious blue skies and silvery waves. As a consequence the end result perhaps looks more like a day in February than August, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to do a lot more of these in the future.
